In-House Medical Testing in Arlington
Your Convenient On-Site Laboratory for Quick Diagnoses
At PrimeCare Emergency Center, we are proud to have a state-of-the-art lab on-site for a more streamlined and quicker diagnosis of your health. Our lab specialists provide a vast array of services, including flu diagnosis, urinalysis, drug and alcohol screening, and lipid and metabolic panels, among several other testing services.
A more comprehensive list of the on-site testing we provide can be found under our laboratory services page. Our in-house services are available on a walk-in basis, or you may schedule a time that is more suitable for you.
How Our In-House Testing Process Works
When you visit our clinic for on-site lab testing, our team begins by reviewing your symptoms, medical history, and any orders from your physician. A provider will explain what each test is looking for, how it will be collected, and how long results are expected to take so you can plan the rest of your day. Many tests are performed during the same visit as your evaluation, which helps reduce the number of trips you need to make for answers.
After samples are collected, they are sent directly to our on-site laboratory, where trained staff run the appropriate panels and document your results. Once your results are ready, a provider will review them with you, answer questions, and discuss whether any additional treatment, imaging, or follow-up with a primary care doctor or other clinician is recommended. If you need copies of your lab results to share with a doctor outside our clinic, our front desk can help you obtain printed or electronic records before you leave.

COVID-19 Testing Services in Arlington, Texas
For those who need to check their coronavirus status or workers who require verification of negative results for employment reasons, our office provides COVID-19 testing in Arlington, Texas. We offer both in-house testing and, for a more extensive recording of the virus, the option to have a phlebotomy sample sent out for testing.
Our dynamic staff follows strict pandemic protocol, and they are constantly updated on CDC reports and recommendations.
Our commitment to minimize the spread of infection includes the following measures:
- Tele-diagnostic evaluations over the phone for virtual screening appointments.
- Drive-up appointments for nasal testing (the antibody test requires blood samples that necessitate an indoor visit).
- Strict sanitizing and cleaning maintenance to help ensure the safety of staff and patients alike.
When you visit our urgent care in Arlington for COVID-19 testing, our team will review your symptoms, exposure history, and testing needs so we can recommend the most appropriate option for you. Many patients use same-day testing to meet workplace requirements, pre-travel screenings, or school policies, and we work to provide clear instructions on isolation, follow-up care, and when to seek additional medical attention based on your results.
Types of COVID In-House Testing We Offer
- COVID-19 Antigen Test – Taking up to 15 minutes for results to appear, antigen tests use a nasal or throat swab to detect certain proteins or glycans currently present within the fluid sample. They are a practical and efficient choice when assessing a large number of potentially infected people. Depending on your specific case, a negative result from an antigen test may require a follow-up with molecular testing to help ensure that no false negatives have been recorded. The cash price for this test is $150.
- Molecular (PCR) Testing - This in-house testing also uses a nasopharyngeal swab, and results are typically available within 45 minutes from retrieving your fluid sample. This test detects currently active COVID infections and identifies viral RNA material using a reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR). These tests are considered to be very accurate. The cash price for this test is $400.
- COVID-19 Antibody Test – This testing traces antibodies in your blood or serum to determine whether you currently have the virus or have contracted it in the past. Blood samples for this testing can be collected at our emergency center, with results generally taking around 2-3 days. Keep in mind that taking the test too early may not detect antibodies that are still forming in your immune system, which can make the test less accurate. If a negative result from an antibody test appears, you may be recommended to follow up after 48 hours from your first test to see if a second blood sample provides evidence of antibody production. The cash price for this test is $300.
Patients who are unsure which option is right for them can discuss their situation with our clinical team so we can match the test type to their timing, symptoms, and documentation needs. Because all three options are provided through our on-site lab testing, most people are able to complete their visit and receive guidance in a single trip, rather than waiting days for off-site processing.
